We’re happy to announce that the 2024 March Mathness challenge has officially begun! Join us as we explore the greater Dallas – Fort Worth area and discover the mathematics of the everyday world around us. Adding to the fun, each week we’ll be giving away two $50 prizes – one for visiting locations in our March Mathness walks, and one for sharing images and videos of your own #MarchMathness discoveries on Instagram. And when the final week of the Mathness rolls in, we’ll be doubling the prizes – giving away two $100 cards!
March Mathness is for everyone – whether or not you’re currently in the DFW area! Our Instagram raffle can be entered from anywhere, and even if you can’t make it to our math stop locations, their content can be accessed for free from any browser or smartphone, or through our video libraries.
How to get started:
To enter the tour stop raffle, just download the free Otocast app, and search for March Mathness. Make sure to allow location sharing so we can check you’ve physically visited the stops, and tap the ribbon badge icon in-app to sign in with an email and begin earning badges for exploring!
To enter the Instagram raffle, post a photo or reel of a real-world place, artwork, or activity captioned with your own math-related question about what you see! Be sure to tag us (@talkingSTEM) and use #MarchMathness so that we can find your entries, and share the March Mathness buzz.
The more tour stops you visit, and the more posts you make, the more entries you have into the rolling weekly raffle! We encourage you to go out and explore as many as you can, and have fun sharing your own math inquiries along the way.

Dr. Koshi Dhingra has dedicated her career to STEM education and is passionate about having every child live up to their potential. Seeing a lack of girls and other underrepresented youth in STEM programs, she founded talkSTEM in 2015 to address the imbalance. She has a doctorate in science education from Teachers College, Columbia University, has years of experience teaching in graduate and undergraduate programs, and has held leadership roles in universities. She advises and collaborates with a broad range of educational institutions globally. Dr. Dhingra began her career teaching science in middle and high school in New York. She lives in Dallas, Texas with her husband, three children, and two dogs.
