As of Friday, May 7, 2021, our new Her STEMlens Virtual Exhibition has opened. May’s exhibit theme is Mental Health Month, a national observance started in 1949 by the Mental Health America organization to facilitate discussions of the stigma, strategies, and solutions surrounding mental health. This also concludes our series of virtual exhibitions – at least for now! We’ll always be looking to social media to see what #herSTEMlens and #STEMlens posts are being shared, and will be continuing to compile them in our growing archive of resources.

To view this month’s exhibit guide, click here. For educators’ resources, click here.

Additionally, you can always check back in for information and materials from prior months’ exhibits, and learn how to get involved yourself, at our Her STEMlens Program page.

We invite our growing community to share their STEMlens from wherever they may be, anytime. Your STEMlens is shareable as a photo of a real world object or place together with your STEM-related question. You can also use a short video if you prefer and you are welcome to share with us. Don’t forget to tag us on tiktok (@talkSTEM), instagram (@talkingSTEM) or twitter (@talkingSTEM). Use #STEMlens or #HerSTEMlens (the latter for all girls’ and women’s posts).

Thank you to all the submissions we’ve received in the exhibits thus far – we’re looking forward to seeing what you continue to share! We are grateful to the support from our Founding Partner, Comerica Bank, without whom the Her STEMlens exhibition and movement would not be possible. We are also grateful to our Community Partners: ChickTechMillion Women MentorsNepris, the National Girls Collaborative Project, and Maier Math Foundation. These organizations’ great work in supporting children’s math, science, STEM, and STEAM education is inspirational. Please leave a comment below, we would love to hear what you think!
